Cheap-Ass Kansas City Royals Skip Fanfest

Here's yet another annoyance to start the new year . . .

LOCAL NEWS REFUSES TO CALL OUT THE KANSAS CITY ROYALS FOR NEGLECTING FAN FEST!!!

Why???

Because advertising dollars are at risk and even if the cheapskate organization is willing to skimp on access for fans . . . Their money spends all the same. 

Moreover . . .

"In the quest for a new downtown stadium, the Kansas City Royals seem to be withdrawing from the casual public discourse and attempting to sanitize every interaction through a public relations lens. Make no mistake, FanFest is one of the few events focused on families wherein parents can safely allow youngsters to get up close & personal with star players. From our vantage, moving away from this event has one very simple implication: The Royals don't want to be a part of the community, they only want EPIC tax breaks and generous land access. The organization has become just another soulless corporation."

Check the update that has been heretofore ignored by most sports talkers in favor of chasing a few nickels that the team is willing to throw their way . . . 

"The Royals have not confirmed if FanFest 2023 is happening or not. Common sense says the event will not happen, and the chances get worse and worse with each passing day. The Royals did not confirm that the 2022 iteration wouldn't happen until early January, so there may be some hope they can cobble something together. But as chances get slimmer and slimmer, fans' disappointment grows."
