Biting The Dust In Kansas City: Another Country Club Plaza Restaurant Shuts Down

This upscale haunt was popular with the party set and even enjoyed a bit of a comeback as weather and the pandemic improved during late 2022.

Sadly, here's a peek at the end of their empire . . .

“Our lease is up at the end of this month and the space needs a lot of infrastructure work. That was an unknown, how much it would cost,” said Zócalo owner Chris Ridler. “But the Plaza has been great to work with.”

Plaza officials couldn’t be reached immediately Monday for comment.

Alaskan Fur and Gourmet Grocer had operated on the site before Tex-Mex restaurant Mi Cocina took both spots in 1998. It closed a decade later. The space was dark for three years before Zocalo took over.
