TKC Question: Is KCPD Open Letter Crisis Nothingburger Or Big Deal?!?

Here's a quick experiment . . .

Ask a friend or family member who resides in Kansas City: What do you think of recent allegations of unethically hidden criminal case evidence and denied public records requests by Kansas City Police???

My guess is that they'll quickly switch the conversation to the Downtown Stadium or Chiefs playoff chances.

Our suspicion . . .

This open letter gambit seems manufactured to coincide with the selection of a new Chief in order to undermine the already sketchy process AND the incoming Chief who will most likely be Maj. Stacey Graves.

More to the point . . .

THE OPEN LETTER ALLEGATIONS ONLY SEEM LIKE A CRISIS AMONGST KANSAS CITY LAWYERS, POLITICOS & ACTIVISTS!!!

Don't misunderstand . . .

These story is important and deserves consideration.

We're merely noting a truism . . .

Charges of paperwork wrongdoing rarely move the dial for the average voter and/or resident.

That's unfortunate but it's also the reality of our mobile/social media culture that often fails to understand any civic issue without impactful visuals and little sympathy for criminal defendants.

Real talk . . . Law & Order episodes now qualify as intellectual fare and we tragically must forgive the public for misunderstanding the ramifications of this story that has sparked chattering class ELECTION SEASON OUTAGE regarding due process and police integrity but has been mostly ignored by the plebs.

Developing . . .
