Jackson County Legislator Theresa Cass Galvin didn't have much luck dethroning Executive Frank White and so . . . Now she's attempting to take her game across the street to City Hall.
To wit . . .
SOUTH KANSAS CITY CONSERVATIVES CELEBRATE REPUBLICAN GALVIN'S FORAY INTO COUNCIL POLITICS!!!
We all pretend these elections are non-partisan but that hasn't been true for a long time.
Overall . . .
The 5th District At-Large is an important position given that the home-district is dominated by Freedom, Inc BUT a Freedom candidate is a "tougher sell" city wide.
Quick interlude . . . Credit to AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS who share a bit of repurposing and a sign of excitement . . .
Consider . . .
Councilman Lee Barnes, Jr. was a solid Freedom, Inc. vote but mostly stayed above the fray during his tenure.
Meanwhile . . .
On the Legislature, Theresa Cass Galvin was a force of nature and unafraid to challenge Exec Frank White. If elected, her supporters are hoping she takes that same spirit to council chambers and calls out Mayor Q on some of his questionable policies.
To be fair . . .
Despite a vast array of political connections, experience and skill . . . Insiders weren't impressed with Galvin's campaigning skills.
She wasn't able to put a lot of money together and didn't seem willing to mug for the cameras or social media attention.
Make no mistake . . .
There are two factions of KC activists hoping to claim this spot . . . If Galvin wants it, she's going to have to work harder than she did in her losing effort at the courthouse.
Developing . . .
