Ironically, Kansas City has heard the same thing about local control and community engagement from BOTH SIDES as we endure yet another record year for homicides.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - After weeks of search and recruitment, the Kansas City, Missouri, Board of Police Commissioners has selected three finalists for the city's next chief of police . The community had a chance to meet the three candidates on Saturday via a public town hall.

Kansas City is one step closer to finding its next police chief.Saturday's community town hall was the first and only opportunity residents had to meet the candidates in person.The state-run Board of Police Commissioners has narrowed the field to three finalists. Each candidate answered the same 10 questions in a period of 45 minutes.
