Life Lesson: Inmates In The Dotte Complain Of Freezing Temperatures

Not so fun fact . . .

In a great many ways, the climate is brutal inside the pokey. This should provide one more reason to stay on the straight & narrow path. Sure, we care about human rights but we're content to advocate on the OUTSIDE of the lockup and blog underneath blankets and this pillow fort I've set up in the basement over the past few days.

Many inmates being held at Wyandotte County Detention Center have been calling family for help!!! Multiple inmates said that there is little to no heat inside the cells.

One inmate told family that he thinks he’s going to die due to the cold temperatures.
 Family members have reached out to us for help getting answers.

We called the jail, we didn’t receive any information about the current incident.

As New York temperatures dropped in early December, a public defender in Brooklyn tweeted a request for warm clothing for those incarcerated on Rikers Island. "It's freezing outside.
