Kansas City Prep School Goes 'Phone Free' In Losing Fight Against Future

Two thoughts about this . . .

This is a great idea and will undoubtedly focus the attention of students.

However . . .

Managing distractions and learning how to deal with multi-tasking is a valuable skill that most adults never quite attain. 

Practicing putting priorities into place is also an important lesson.

Something for parents to consider at "all or nothing" ideas are rarely "solutions" that are viable outside of a closed setting . . .

In a letter to parents, Hogan Prep High School said that cell phones had been creating disruptions and disruptions. The message included a fact sheet that read, “The use of cell phones during the school day contributes to an unsafe and less productive environment. Moving forward, Hogan will be a phone free school.”
