Kansas City Police Evacuate Ward Parkway After Shots Fired

Social media blast informs us of a shopping mall ruckus this evening. 


Shots Fired Near Ward Parkway 

This evening at 6:45pm, we received several 911 calls in regard to shots fired at Ward Parkway Center.  Due to the magnitude of the situation, we called for a city wide assist and several area law enforcement agencies quickly responded to assist us.

Officers immediately responded and without hesitation entered the businesses and began searching for any victims and suspects.  Officers have cleared all the businesses and have not located any injured victims.  Officers have taken subjects of interest into custody.

Our Assault Squad detectives have responded to the scene and they will be leading the investigation. Our Crime Scene Personnel have also responded to the scene.  We know there are several witnesses who left the area for their safety before we were able to contact them, we urge them to call detectives at 816-234-5227 with information.  Or you can call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Kansas City, Missouri Police Department is on the scene after shots were fired near Ward Parkway Center Tuesday night. The shots fired call was reported just after 6:30 p.m. near Ward Parkway and State Line Road. Multiple people could be seen being evacuated from the the shopping center.

Shots fired investigation prompts evacuation at Ward Parkway Center in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Customers were evacuated from the Ward Parkway Center in Kansas City, Missouri, on Tuesday night as police investigated a shots fired incident. Ofc. Donna Drake, a spokesperson for KCPD, said no one was injured in the incident. Police took more than one person of interest in custody, but Drake couldn't immediately say how many.
