Kansas City Gunfire Amid Christmas Shopping Terrifies Customers

We revisit last night's top story if only to make an important point and invite TKC readers to weigh in:

GUNFIRE AMID CHRISTMAS SHOPPING REMINDS US THAT WORSENING VIOLENCE THREATENS TO KILL KANSAS CITY'S ECONOMY GOING FORWARD!!!

Already this year we've seen The Plaza struggling to come back form politically endorsed violence/uprising of two years ago.

Sadly . . .

Mayor & Council seemingly feel far more comfortable bullying Westport leaders and offering pithy social media comments than talking honestly about what we can do to make Midtown safer.

History shows us that consumers are exceptionally vulnerable to fear of violence. If this town is serious about supporting the post-COVID economic rebound that we so desperately need . . . Than the sordid topic of violence impacting local commerce must be addressed.

"I feel lucky that I’m not giving you different information right now," Ofc. Donna Drake, a spokesperson for KCPD told reporters Tuesday night. "I hope that remains to be the case tonight. I don’t wish this upon anyone; this is a traumatic experience and as you know, we take our family shopping with us and we shouldn’t be worrying about things like this when we are looking forward to celebrating and spending time with family."
