KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Police in Kansas City, Missouri, are asking for the public's help in locating a missing woman who was traveling on a Greyhound bus from Las Vegas, Nevada. LaTonya Stephenson was traveling to Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Tuesday when the bus made an unexpected stop in KCMO.


Cass County escapees, accomplice charged with federal crimes

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Two inmates who escaped from the Cass County jail Monday face new charges, and a third man is charged with helping in the escape. Federal prosecutors charged Trevor Scott Sparks, 33, and Sergio Perez Martinez, 43, with escape from confinement and aiding or assisting in escape from confinement Wednesday afternoon.


KCK police ask for help identifying persons of interest in November homicide

SOURCE: KMBC Police in Kansas City, Kansas, are asking for help identifying three people who are considered persons of interest in a homicide last month.The homicide happened Nov. 13 just after midnight outside Club Nereidas on Kansas Avenue near state line.Investigators said the three may have left the scene in a black, four-door sedan.Anyone who recognizes them or knows anything about the homicide is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.


Pedestrian critically injured in Wednesday night accident in Westport

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - One person suffered critical injuries after being hit by a vehicle Wednesday night in Westport. The accident happened at 8:35 p.m. at Southwest Trafficway and Roanoke Road. Police said the driver stayed at the accident scene. No word on what led to the accident.


Two Kansas inmates sentenced for crimes committed while already in prison

LANSING, Kan. - Two Kansas prisoners will spend more time behind bars for crimes committed while housed at Lansing Correctional Facility. A Leavenworth County judge sentenced Jeremy Volle, 35, to nearly two years in prison. According to court records, the additional time is for trying to receive methamphetamine within the prison.


Family remembers Kansas City father killed in shooting as case remains unsolved
