Kansas City 3-Year-Old Girl Killed By Accidental Shooting Amid Christmas

A horrific tragedy unfolded in Kansas City over the holiday weekend. 

The outcome is devastating for both family and community as the impact of guns can't be neglected no matter how readers might feel about more or less regulatory control.

Here are the basics of the story as police recently reported that the youngster killed was an innocent African-American baby girl of only 3 year-old.

Death Investigation - LATE DEATH - 7800 block of James A Reed

SATURDAY NIGHT at 6:45pm, officers were called to the 7800 block of James A Reed in regard to a shooting call for service involving a juvenile.  Upon arrival, officers located the victim, a juvenile under 5 years old, inside the residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to the hospital in critical condition.

Detectives and Crime Scene Personnel responded to the scene.  Detectives interviewed witnesses who were also in the residence at the time of the shooting.  Crime Scene Personnel processed the scene and collected evidence.

It is with immense grief we report the victim died last night at the hospital.  Although the death investigation continues, this is believed to be accidental and detectives are not looking for any suspects in this case.  The medical examiner’s office will make the final determination on a ruling of the death.

Reed Road around 6:45 p.m. Saturday to investigate a shooting involving a child under the age of 5.Upon arrival at the scene, police located a 3-year-old girl, Quezariah Jackson in critical condition.
