Kansas Abortion Showdown Redux

In politics, in a Democracy . . . Nothing is every REALLY settled. 

Or, as one slave owning, hemp growing radical might have said: "Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty."

And that goes both ways . . . Just pick whichever one that you think supports your sketchy worldview.

Today's example . . . 

Kansas lawmakers will return on Jan. 9 to debate several hot-button issues, but Republicans and Democrats may clash regarding abortion . . . Abortion could be a divisive issue for lawmakers next session. However, the majority of Kansans made it clear where they stand in August.

Almost 60% voted to uphold abortion rights in the state.

Are Kansas abortion rights up for debate in 2023?

TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) - Despite a historic vote to uphold abortion rights in Kansa s, the debate over the issue will continue in 2023. Newly elected Kansas House Speaker Dan Hawkins, R-Wichita, said that members could see abortion bills introduced. Political Analyst Bob Beatty agreed that it's likely to occur.
