FDA Warns American Shaman About Products Appealing To Youngsters

A local power player in the CBD game gets a stern open letter from federal regulators . . .

Check-it . . .

The FDA singled out American Shaman, which says it has more than 300 store locations across the United States, for selling candies “that would be attractive to children.”

“These companies are selling CBD containing products that people may confuse for traditional foods or beverages which may result in unintentional consumption or overconsumption of CBD,” the FDA said in a statement.

An important passage from the warning letter . . .

"FDA is particularly concerned that some of your products are in forms that are appealing to children. For example, your CBD Suckers, CBD Hard Candies, various Cookies [with] 10mg CBD per Serving, and various CBD Gummies products are all in forms that would be attractive to children and could easily be mistaken for traditional foods that are commonly consumed by children."
