Exposed: Kansas City Mayor Q Campaign War Chest Vs. FOP Money

The struggle amongst police vs. city hall continues amid an upcoming low turnout election.

Local news doesn't really understand how this game is played so we'll try to help the denizens of our blog community understand the score.

Unreported so far . . .

As last count the Kansas City Fraternal Order Of Police tallied $229,315 in their political action committee coffers.

That's an impressive sum for a small town municipal election.

However . . . This week our readers heard a bit of bragging about the mayor's money from 12th & Oak.

Check-it . . .

COUNTING CASH FROM D.C. ALLIES, MAYOR Q HAS NOW SURPASSED THE ONE MILLION DOLLAR MARK!!!

On the record he has documented $620K and rising.

What does this mean in practical terms???

LIKE IT OR NOT, INCLUDING DARK MONEY, MAYOR Q NOW HAS QUADRUPLE THE RESOURCES OF POLICE SUPPORTERS TO PUSH HIS COUNCIL SLATE THROUGH!!!

This is bad news for all of the old school candidates the police dug up to push back against the Mayor in order to make his last term a living hell.

HOWEVER . . .

A Northland strategy and frustration with rising crime might help police & their candidate slate overpower the Mayor's money.

More or less . . .

THE UPCOMING KANSAS CITY VOTE LOOKS TO BE A FIGHT BEWIXT COPS & MAYOR Q FOR CONTROL OF THE COUNCIL!!!

Sorry that Dave Helling is too busy at his retirement party to talk about this KCMO battle royale that could determine the course of the next 4 years.

Sure . . .

Police are fired up about FINALLY getting a chance to flex their political muscle . . . Even if last time around they actually gleefully endorsed Mayor Q.

That's a fact worth repeating whenever the po-po politickers get a bit too confident about their influence:

Ahhhhhh . . . Simpler times . . .

Anyhoo . . .

The point here is that our blog community shouldn't play cheerleader to anyone if their pursuit is mostly power & money.

Our "jorb" at TKC is to share these behind the scenes power moves with our readers given that both parties tend to bully whoever their talking to into swallowing their company line.

As always, any decent journalistic endeavor should second guess plans for world domination.

Accordingly . . .

Yes . . .

The Mayor & the po-po politicos have a great deal of money in a quest wield influence.

The punchline is that voter turnout in Kansas City continues to trend downward and it doesn't look like many people outside of the cowtown chattering class are interested in watching latest round in an ongoing slap fight for control of the police budget.

Developing . . .
