ACLU sues Independence School District over book removal policy

The American Civil Liberties Union of Missouri is suing the Independence School District after its school board banned a book that included a non-binary character. The ACLU filed a lawsuit Tuesday on behalf of several students in the United States District Court in the Western District of Missouri.


Independence students file suit against district after book banned

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - Four parents, on behalf of their students, filed a federal lawsuit Tuesday, challenging the Independence School District's policy on banning books. The book that came before the lawsuit is "Cats vs. Robots #1: This is War."
