Progressives Protesting Cop Killer Execution Is Why Missouri Democrats FAIL

Objectively we ask . . .

WHY ARE MISSOURI DEMOCRATIC PARTY LEADERS SILENT WHEN PROGRESSIVES PROTEST ON BEHALF OF A COP KILLER?!?!

A caveat just to complicate the topic . . .

Of course this guy deserves to have people advocate for him. Capital punishment is a complex and tragic issue and only absolute cretins on TKC are REALLY happy about anybody being put to death. Another caveat . . . Death penalty jokes are hilarious.

Moreover . . .

Libertarians and more thoughtful conservatives are hesitant about the power of the state to put a person to death.

The death penalty isn't a deterrent, it doesn't bring anyone back and mostly serves to highlight several faulty aspects of an arcane justice system.

The answer to all of this is mostly just keyboard warriors arguing for public executions or some other unlikely and unworkable solution that substitutes for an original idea.

In the meantime . . .

Democratic Party leaders do their constituents a disservice by their tacit silence which helps Republican opposition takeover the "law & order" issue when, in fact, the Missouri GOP record on crime fighting, skyrocketing drug addiction in rural Missouri and law enforcement support also deserves scrutiny.

For now . . .

Here's a glimpse at today's carnival of death . . .

Johnson has admitted to shooting and killing Kirkwood police Sgt. William McEntee in 2005.

The special prosecutor looked at all five cases involving police officer deaths under the tenure of former St. Louis County prosecutor Bob McCulloch. He sought the death penalty in all four cases involving Black defendants but not in the one case where the defendant was white.

Attorneys and supporters asked for a stay so another court to weigh in on those racial bias claims.
