Person Of Interest In Custody After Deadly KCK Halloween Party Mass Shooting

Police Chief Karl Oakman said there was an invite-only party at a home in the 1600 block of South 50th Street, when some unknown people showed up at the home. Oakman said when they were asked to leave, the suspects began shooting up the house as they left.

Oakman added in an update Tuesday morning that the party had been promoted on social media. Previous parties had been held at that home with no reported issues, and a parent was at home at the time of the shooting.

Person of interest in custody after KCK shooting Halloween night kills 1 teen, injures 6

Well, good morning. Uh This is an update from our shooting that took place last night, just about around 89 P. M. Correction. Uh 1600 block of south 50th, officers were dispatched on *** shots fired call upon arrival. They contacted the home owner and it was discovered that there was one um individual that was deceased at the scene.

The Kansas City, Kansas Police Department stated police were called to the area just west of I-635 and south of Metropolitan Avenue just after 9 p.m.
