Cleaver defeats Turk, will serve 10th term as US Representative

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Democrat Emanuel Cleaver won his reelection bid for U.S. House in Missouri's 5th Congressional District. The incumbent defeated Republican Jacob Turk and Libertarian Robin Dominick, and he will return to Washington, D.C. as a Congressman. Cleaver has represented the 5th Congressional District since 2005.


The vote is tight on whether to shift power from the Kansas governor to the Legislature

The fate of an amendment to the Kansas Constitution that would shift regulatory clout from the governor to the Legislature remained in limbo early Wednesday because the statewide vote remained too close to call. The proposed amendment would give the Legislature, long dominated by Republicans, more power over defining how state laws should be carried out by agencies.


Rep. Sam Graves reelected, wins Missouri's 6th Congressional District

Election Results Kansas City: Mayor Lucas comments on police funding, marijuana legalization

6 a.m. | Kansas City, Missouri, Mayor Quinton Lucas says "the battle for local control of KCPD begins today" after Missourians signed off on Amendment 4, increasing the minimum percentage of KCMO's revenue the city must allocate to the police department. Lucas says courts, including the Missouri Supreme Court, will be the battlefield.
