KU Basketball Coach Bill Self Suspended Following FBI Investigation

One of the highest paid state employees suffered a smack down from his boss today.

College b-ball has always been a sketchy endeavor and the discipline doesn't seem to offer much confidence in the program.

"Kansas basketball coach Bill Self and assistant Kurtis Townsend on Wednesday were suspended for the first four games of the season, and the Jayhawks imposed several recruiting restrictions as part of the fallout from the FBI investigation into college basketball corruption stemming from 2017."

LAWRENCE, Kan. -- Kansas suspended Hall of Fame coach Bill Self and top assistant Kurtis Townsend for the first four games of the season Wednesday, along with imposing several recruiting restrictions, as part of the fallout from a lengthy FBI investigation into college basketball corruption.

Kansas basketball head coach Bill Self and assistant coach Kurtis Townsend were reportedly suspended for the first four games of the season, according to Stadium's Jeff Goodman. This self-imposed punishment by the university stems from a 2017 NCAA investigation into Kansas. Assistant Norm Roberts will serve as interim head coach during Self's absence.
