Operation 100/Stand-off 1700 blk of E 28th

On arrival officers made contact with a juvenile teen caller outside the residence. He relayed that a man and a woman were involved in an argument and physical altercation inside the house. He further advised that the male is believed to be armed with a gun.

Officers attempted multiple times to make contact with the occupants to ensure everyone’s safety. The man and the woman refused to come to the door or exit the residence.

Officers deescalated and backed away from the house and surrounded it to prevent escape.
They called for a stand-off to bring tactical response officers and trained negotiators to the scene.

After about 45 minutes of negotiation a female assault victim exited the residence and was taken to safety. She had minor injuries that did not require medical treatment.
The male subject remains in the residence and is refusing to come out. He is believed to be the only occupant of the house at this time.

Negotiators are working now to talk the male into coming out of the residence.
