First report we've seen on a situation currently unfolding . . .

OP 100/ 8600 block of E. 61st terrace

At approximately 1040 this morning, officers were dispatched to the 8600 block of E. 61st Terrace in regard to a DV assault.

Upon arrival they made contact with an injured female victim who had been assaulted.  She indicated the suspect was still inside of the residence. Officers attempted to make contact with the suspect with negative results.  The victim responded to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

An operation 100 was called and tactical officers and negotiators have responded to the scene.  Negotiators are attempting to talk with the suspect, and hopefully bring this to a peaceful resolution.

UPDATED: At approximately 3:50 PM the suspect exited the residence and was taken into custody without incident. The investigation continues.
