KANSAS CITY PLAYLIST: FORMER PREZ TRUMP BACK ON TWITTER!?!

For anyone lurking this small corner of the Internets . . . There's really only one topic worthy of discussion throughout every online community . . .

PREZ TRUMP IS BACK ON TWITTER THANKS TO BILLIONAIRE ELON MUSK!!!

The potential Twitter reinstatement was inevitable but there's a few implications worth unpacking . . .

NO . . .

You're not going to enjoy Mastodon, it's not nearly as fun and is almost like a part-time job.

Even worse . . . If you're under 65, your parents are on Facebook. So that's not an option.

From a media game perspective . . .

If Prez Trump plays an active role on Twitter once again . . . That's a sign that his "Truth Social" app floundered and didn't even really keep him interested. In fact, the C-list app from the former Prez might stand in the way of his triumphant return.

Truth be told . . .

Twitter is overrated, still jam packed with bots and really nothing more than a place to ruin future job prospects . . . Moreover, for the vast majority of users it's just as lonely as any other online space wherein the average person yelling into the void is almost completely unnoticed.

That's the bright side . . .

The only way we've seen the app used effectively is for a smallish group of scumbags to feign support for sketchy public policy. For instance, there's a ton of bike lane advocates stalking local Twitter but I've only seen a couple in real life and they're mostly just trying to save their taxpayer funded jorb.

But I digress . . .

The point here is that the former Prez now has his trolling platform reinstated just in time for his third presidential run.

Objectively . . . The hyperbolic outrage is entertaining no matter how any reader might vote.

And all of this inspires our TKC playlist tonight on the topic of comebacks . . .

Kudos to your late 20th century Kansas City terrestrial radio training if this was the first song to pop in your head . . .

A bit of a stretch but we respect the swagger of Prez Trump's gay constituency and remind readers that an estimated 14 percent of LGBTQ voters supported Donald Trump in 2016.

This James Brown song is one of our faves and it reminds us that in 2020 bout 26 percent of Black men who had a high school diploma or less supported Trump. And 22 percent of Black men with bachelor’s degrees and 20 percent of Black men with advanced degrees also supported him.

For the lulz and yet another tribute to 90s nostalgia . . . Oasis serves their purpose as the playlist transition and/or a nice segue . . .

Interpret this last classic tune from The Beatles any way you'd like . . .

As always, thanks for reading this week and have a safe & fun Saturday night.
