Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, Brittany welcome son 'Bronze'

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany Mahomes have a little something else to celebrate this holiday season. Brittany gave birth to the couple's second child Patrick "Bronze" Lavon Mahomes III on Nov. 28, the couple announced on social media Monday.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes announced the birth of his son on Twitter Monday night.Mahomes tweeted a picture with the name Patrick "Bronze" Lavon Mahomes III and Monday's date and the baby's weight of 7 pounds 8 ounces.Brittany Mahomes also posted on her Instagram account the same picture and Bronze's name and weight.During Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Rams, there apparently was concern that Brittany had gone into labor because she had stopped tweeting during the game.

Firefighters rescue 5 from burning apartment building in KCK

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) - An apartment fire over the weekend displaced 15-20 people in Kansas City, Kansas, and sent three people to the hospital. Those three people are all going to survive. A big reason for that is the rapid response time by firefighters. Firefighters responded to the three-story fire on Saturday night.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Broderick Crawford, a staunch community activist for Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas, died Sunday afternoon after a health challenge left him in a coma for nearly a year. Crawford was the president and former executive director of NBC Community Development Corporation in KCK, managing and overseeing projects that strove for better health outcomes throughout the Wyandotte County community.


Joette Pelster of KC's Coterie Theatre passes away at 71

Joette Pelster, who served as the executive director of Kansas City's beloved Coterie Theatre since 1993, died at age 71. Pelster "passed away peacefully at home in her sleep" on Friday, Nov. 25, according to the Coterie. Just a week prior, on Nov. 17, Pelster announced her plan to retire by the end of Jan.


Near Murder, Gun Death Drive Work of KCMO Youth Mentor

At just 13 years of age, Reynard Zweifel came close to being killed at the hand of another teen attempting to complete a gang initiation. The attacker pointed a gun at Zweifel's head at point blank range as he walked home from school in Kansas City, Missouri.
