Kansas City 2022 Homicide Count Hits #155 After Deadly Triple Shooting

Something that we should all consider at the end of the year . . .

KCMO is now only three homicides away from marking the 2nd most violent year in local history. For the second year in a row. 

Here's reporting from this afternoon amid a crisis that keeps worsening . . .

Homicide 2000 block of 38th st

This afternoon just after 2:30pm officers were called to 38th and Garfield on a sound of shots call; it was later upgraded to a shooting call.

On arrival officers were directed to 2 male shooting victims who were in front of a residence there unresponsive.

Officers summoned EMS to the scene who declared the 2 unresponsive victims deceased here at the scene.

A third victim was taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries

Detectives and crime scene investigators are canvassing for witnesses and processing the scene for evidence.

Detectives are working now to determine the identities of the shooting victims as well as what led up to the shooting.

KCPD says two people are dead and another is injured following a Sunday afternoon shooting

Kansas City, Missouri police are investigating after two people were killed Sunday afternoon. Sunday afternoon, around 2:30 p.m., police say officers were called to the area of 38th Street and Garfield on the sound of shots fire.At the scene, officers were directed to two male shooting victims who were unresponsive in front of a residence.


KCPD investigating double fatal shooting in 2000 block of East 38th Street

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A double fatal shooting Sunday is under investigation by Kansas City, Missouri, police. Officers were called just before 2:30 p.m. to the 2000 block of East 38th Street on reports of shots fired. While responding, the call was upgraded to a shooting.
