Kansas City 2022 Homicide #153: Deadly Gunfire Erupts Early Thanksgiving

The holiday season doesn't stop the spate of violence on local streets.

We notice that KCMO is now only 5 murders away from 2022 ranking as the 2nd highest homicide total in local history. For the 2nd year in a row.

Here's the first report on the latest deadly local shooting . . . 

Homicide 8400 block of Olive

This morning just after 2am officers were called to a house at 84th and Olive on a shooting call.

On arrival officers were directed to an adult male shooting victim who was in front of a residence there unresponsive.

Officers summoned EMS to the scene who declared the victim deceased here at the scene.

There were several people at the location when officers arrived and detectives are talking with them now to get a better idea of what led up the to the shooting.

Detectives and crime scene investigators are canvassing for witnesses and processing the scene for evidence.

KCPD investigating homicide on Thanksgiving

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - KCPD is responding to the scene of a fatal shooting near 84th and Olive. Officers were called to the scene just after 2:00 a.m. and were directed to an adult male shooting victim in front of a residence unresponsive. EMS declared the man dead at the scene.


Man killed in early Thanksgiving shooting

Kansas City, Missouri, police are investigating a homicide from early Thanksgiving morning. Officers say they heard reports of a shooting in the area of 84th Street and Olive Street a little after 2 a.m.
