Dump Royals Downtown Stadium & Keep Kansas City Chiefs Instead?!?

By pressing the issue of a proposed Downtown Kansas City baseball stadium with a vague tweet and bold pronouncement accompanied by few deets . . . A billionaire pushed his way to the front of the line for public subsidy line and distracted locals from a more important question.

According to TOP ECHELON KANSAS CITY INSIDERS we share this truism and offer something to consider this season . . .

LOCALS CAN'T AFFORD BOTH: THE ROYALS DOWNTOWN STADIUM THREATENS TO COST THIS TOWN THE KANSAS CITY CHIEFS!!!

A move to Overland Park would make sense and also represent an an EPIC win for Kansas . . . So much so that they'd be willing to give away the store, sell their first born or happily grant the team prima nocta.

Kansas snagging the Chiefs would be a decisive victory in an ongoing economic border war. 

And this got us thinking . . . 

MOST KANSAS CITY RESIDENTS WOULD MUCH RATHER KEEP THE CHIEFS THAN THE ROYALS!!!

 Caveat . . .

Don't let arrogant politicos claim that we can keep them both with no problem. As voters, taxpayers and residents . . . It's fair to acknowledge that the Chiefs are this town's favorite franchise and elected leaders should work to secure their place in Kansas City AHEAD of redesigning downtown to accommodate a bottom ranking baseball team.

Sure, we'd like to have them both but this town might not have the tax base for 10 BILLION worth of stadium entertainment districts. 

Accordingly here's our question . . .

Isn't it better to KEEP THE CHIEFS and give them their dome rather than hold on to a mediocre baseball franchise as the fanbase for the sport continues to shrink overall???

Consider . . . 

Concerns about the MLB's waning popularity worsened with the release of the league's attendance numbers for the 2022 season. The MLB saw a 5.7% decline in total attendance from the 2019 season, according to a report from Forbes. 

And so . . . 

Knowing that life is give & take and sacrifices must be made . . .

ISN'T IT BETTER TO KEEP THE KANSAS CITY CHIEFS AND LET KANSAS HAVE THE ROYALS?!?

We think the answer is obvious given that Chiefs are the much more prestigious franchise with a growing market share whereas the future of baseball is bleak and has been in decline since the advent of television.
