Ask Kansas City Council Candidates: Where Should We Put Homeless Camps???

The coming cold weather and holiday season brings uncomfortable questions regarding affordable housing to the forefront once again.

HOW WILL KANSAS CITY COPE WITH RISING NUMBER OF HOMELESS?!?

Consider this brilliant comment from an Insider:

"When we talk about local support for the homeless . . . What that means for many people in the suburbs will pay to keep the problem far way from their neighborhoods."

Don't worry, there's a plan in place that NOBODY is doing to like . . . Check-it . . .

So-called Zero KC is now part of the current administration's agenda and it calls for establishing "low barrier" encampments

A few things to consider . . .

- This winter we expect to see more advocacy for local homeless and far more militant demands.

-  The "low barrier" tiny home idea isn't new . . . In fact, the current council shut it down after threats from big biz. KCMO neighborhoods won't have that same kind of influence.

- If locals thought illegal homeless camps were a pain in the neck . . . City Hall sanctioned encampments might be far worse.

And so we suggest . . .

IT MIGHT BE WORTH ASKING COUNCIL CANDIDATES HOW THEY FEEL ABOUT KCMO SANCTIONED HOMELESS CAMPS!!!

So far we're sure that at least 2 & 1/2 local leaders are ready to contradict Mayor Q on this controversial topic that pulls on heart strings and sparks even more guilt just in time for the holidays.

Developing . . .
