Will 'Magic' Of Kansas City Country Club Plaza Lights Return Or Did BLM Protests Kill It???

We're hopeful about this year but there's no denying the legacy of this embattled entertainment district.

Dozens of businesses have closed amid violent protests, COVID, labor strikes and the demise of retail.

And the crowds have yet to come back in full force.

We hope people will return . . . Here's the pitch to get them back . . .

It's the 93rd year for the Plaza Lighting. This year's family-friendly event will feature holiday music, fireworks, freebies, and a few new "magical surprises."

The pre-show begins on the Country Club Plaza at 5 p.m., followed by the live lighting ceremony at 6 p.m., and a post-show concert at 7 p.m.

Officials with the Country Club Plaza said the "switch flipper" and details on the new offerings will be announced closer to the date of the ceremony.
