KC Star Prez & Editor Mike Fannin doens't have many friends amongst local print journalists. 

He presided over a takeover and years of downsizing during his troubled reign. 

And then there's his apology for William Rockhill Nelson farting at dinner . . . Or whatever. Fact is nobody wanted to hear it and it mostly served to anger their last remaining subscribers.

Long story short . . . 

Don't expect anyone to defend Fannin.

 In fact, the guy is the muse for about 32% of most blog posts from former KC Star workers.

Even better, here's what JimmyC has to say about the embattled newspaper honcho . . .

"I heard recently that longtime president and editor Mike Fannin is on leave…again. He took a leave of absence shortly after he was arrested in Olathe in June on suspicion of DUI, and now, I understand, he’s taken another leave.

"While I’m not 100 percent sure of that report, I got it from a very good source and got enough confirmation that I’m fairly confident in it."
