Kansas City Post-Capitalism: Doggie Luxury Stays Winning Whilst Hotel Rates Skyrocket

Right now we bring word of one more amenity moving out of the reach of low-income consumers. 

Sure, we love capitalism just as much as anybody broke-ass slob . . . But even the most strident advocates for biz über alles can't really explain how the current monetary scheme accounts for the White House turning money into confetti with help from most corporate rulers.

Don't ask TKC for advice . . .

We take a quick peek at a doggie luxury hotel in the metro . . . Because this kind of thing TOTALLY makes sense as the rate of homelessness spikes across the nation . . .

"They don't groom or give shots - it's all about play and sleep. The rooms have dehumidifiers, evening music, and ventilation with UV disinfection technology."

And so we contrast doggie luxury with another reason why Summer vacations were so short for the working poor this year . . .

Luxury dog hotel opens in south Overland Park

Monday was opening day for a new luxury dog hotel. K9 Resorts is located off U.S. 69 Highway and 135th street.There's no spa, but they have just about everything else. Carrara marble at the check-in desk. They have music just for dogs and when you're in one of the luxury suites, TV for dogs as well.Dogs seem to like the place.

With an average rate of $208 per night for the cheapest available double room, the City of Fountains ranks No. 8 on Cheaphotels.org's report of the nation's most expensive city destinations in 2022.
