Mayor Quinton Lucas and Councilwoman Teresa Loar will discuss the status of members of the KCPD and Political Campaigns

Recent events have sparked a number of issues within the KC Police Department regarding rules surrounding the participation of members of the PD and political campaigns. Mayor Lucas will discuss the concerns of the latest political mailer sent by State Senator Tony Luetkemeyer and the circumstances surrounding the pictures of the Command Staff of the KCPD shown in the mail piece.

Councilwoman Teresa Loar will be speaking about her son, Captain David Loar, who was suspended and forced to retire for allegedly participating in the making of a video by a formercandidate for US Senate Eric Greitens.

Section 84.830, RSMo governs the conduct of the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department. It arose from the corruption of the Pendergast era in Kansas City, first being enacted in 1939. It has been amended since, but still only applies to the Kansas City Police Department.
