INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - Two people are in custody after a shooting left one person dead at a gas station in Independence, Missouri. Independence police officers responded to the shooting at the Road Star gas station off U.S. 40 Highway around 2:30 p.m. Thursday. Officers found one person dead, according to police.


Off-duty Kansas City firefighter killed in shooting at Independence gas station

An off-duty Kansas City firefighter was killed in a shooting Thursday afternoon at an Independence gas station.Independence police said they were called about 2:30 p.m. to the Road Star gas station at 11100 East U.S. 40 Highway on a reported shooting and found a man dead.A spokesman for the Kansas City Fire Department confirmed the victim was a firefighter.

Woman pregnant at time of murder in Shawnee apartment, court documents show

SHAWNEE, Kan. - A metro woman was pregnant when her on-again off-again boyfriend allegedly shot and killed her last month, according to court documents. Kathleen Dampier, 25, died Sept. 18. Prosecutors charged 29-year-old Doniel Sublett Jr. with first-degree murder in her death.

Jennifer Hall faces first-degree murder charges from a 20-year old murder case where she's accused of killing a patient. An attorney representing the former respiratory therapist told FOX4 changes of venue are common for court cases in small communities like Chillicothe.
