Monopoly rolls out Kansas City edition ahead of the holidays

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Do not pass go or collect $200 because it's time to roll the dice on your own version of Kansas City. Hasbro just launched it's Monopoly Kansas City edition, and the company did it in style. Mr. Monopoly arrived at Wednesday's event in a 1918 camo-colored Model T Ford to meet Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas.


Hyde Park residents reminiscence on Westport Middle, High School closure

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Twelve years ago, Westport High School closed. One year later, its counterpart, Westport Middle School also closed. Both were vacant for a few years, until Plexpod came to the middle school, and the announcement of new apartments in the high school.

"It has really become a crisis for us" More than 500 families waiting for childcare in Johnson County

OLATHE, Kan. - Hundreds of families in Johnson County are on standby for reliable after school care for their kids. The Johnson County Parks and Recreation District (JCPRD) operates the largest before and after school childcare program in the county. JCPRD's Out of School Time program currently serves approximately 3,000 children out of 66 different elementary schools throughout the county.


Top bridge expert talks about potential factors in Clay County bridge collapse

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has started its review into Wednesday's deadly bridge collapse east of Kearney near 148th Street and Shady Grove Road.The review will take up to six months, according to an OSHA official, as investigators conduct witness interviews along with employee and company representative interviews.Connor Ernst, 22, a construction worker from California, Missouri, died in the collapse.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Custodial crews are doing a deep clean at Clearwater Creek Elementary, a day after officials announced the building would be closed due 25% of students and staff being out with illness . On Wednesday, Principal Nate Kremer said that more than 150 students and staff were absent.
