Kansas City 2022 Homicide Count Hits 136

This morning an inferno in Northeast resulted in a suspicious death investigation and this afternoon there's a double shooting report hitting local news . . . And so the local killing number could quickly climb higher.

However . . .

After a violent Sunday, KCPD update local stats and right now the 2022 homicide count stands at 136.

Something to consider and worth a double take . . .

The homicide count is nearly 10% higher than last year and KCMO is on track to record the second deadliest year in our history for the second year in a row.

What's worse is that the ongoing slaughter only serves as "an issue" by way of legal & election battles over gun control and police funding -- Neither of which have much impact on curbing the quotient of street level killing.

And so . . . We'll roundup some of the recent crime new links and, as always, hope locals start asking more questions about how politicos will help to reduce violence on Kansas City streets.
