The Sheriff wasn't very forthright with Missouri officials. In fact, when they asked him for more deets about WHY he might need an "undersheriff" the answer was muted and public safety secrecy was invoked.
Normally . . .
Missouri LOVES giving money to law enforcement . . . Accordingly, a NO from Jeff City was a bit of a surprise.
This topic is already creating a bit of grief behind the scenes and we expect it might become part of open debate very soon.
