The Jackson County Prosecutor's Office announced Tuesday that it will not be seeking additional charges against Taylor, or against the woman who allegedly fired the fatal shot, citing self-defense. In a statement, the prosecutor's office said, "We grieve with the family and community over this tragic loss of life of Mr. Santi.

"Missouri law governs this case, specifically self-defense and defense of others, leading us to decline charges after a careful review."

The woman involved was released from custody last week pending a review from the prosecutor's office.
