Jackson County Exec Frank White Takes $10K From Ken McClain

As the midterm election moves closer . . . Desperation is starting to set in for candidates across the metro.

Accordingly . . .

CHECK AN EPIC LAST MINUTE $10K CONTRIBUTION FROM KEN McCLAIN TO EMBATTLED COURTHOUSE HONCHO FRANK WHITE!!!

Insiders are passing this back and forth over the weekend and it's also worth a look for voters . . .

Now, for Sunday news readers who are even more curious . . .

Here's context about Exec Frank White's money probs and why this might be important . . .

"White and his wife Teresa had fallen so far behind on the mortgage payments on their Lee’s Summit home that it was scheduled to be sold on the courthouse steps in April 2016. Hendricks and Vockrodt reported that Ken McClain, a lawyer and who owns or co-owns much of the Independence Courthouse Square, “provided the funds to catch White and his wife up on their mortgage.”

"McClain’s involvement was hidden, however, because he has direct business dealings with the county. First, the county rents office space in a building McClain owns on the Square and, second, the county allows McClain to house part of his art collection, free of charge, in the Independence Courthouse."

JimmyC fawns over the paper a bit too much in this post but we appreciate his blogging that's free of paywall garbage.

And so . . . For us here's what this move might mean . . .

This big money last minute contribution signals desperation from Frank White's camp and a sign that Legislative Chair Theresa Cass Galvin is giving him a run for his money . . . Or Ken McClain's money at the very least.

Developing . . .
