HBO's John Oliver: Don't Trust Police And/Or Local Crime Reporting

Reminder . . .

It's election season and progressives are suffering a great deal of embarrassment across the nation amid historic rising violence. Of course the most effective tactic is to deny the problem.

Moreover . . .

Here in Kansas City, Missouri the homicide count has reached historic levels and we're on pace to endure the 2nd most deadly year in our history. Again.

There are people who should be held accountable for this nightmare beyond police and media.

And so . . .

We love his jokes and would like to believe everything this Brit fancyboi claims.

But the reality is impossible to ignore.

Moreover . . .

It's easy to be distracted by racially-charged chatter and politicized hack humor . . . In fact, it's our favorite distraction.

However . . .

Our blog uses police press releases as a resource (amongst other KICK-ASS INSIDERS & TIPSTERS) because their info is consistently accurate and backed up by statistical proof almost daily.

Also . . . Imagining a vast conspiracy against people of color is an election year ploy.

In fact, there are a great many people who follow local crime reporting and hope that the news serves as a tool to curb killing in urban and minority communities. More than anything, we write for these people and do our best to ignore haters trying to work out their inadequacies.

For a few cheap laughs and to allay concerns about rising violence . . . John Oliver's talk show commentary is undoubtedly clever but sadly ignores a very real slaughter that is ongoing in places like KCMO and across the nation.

Nevertheless . . . It's worth checking out for those who haven't seen it already . . .

"John Oliver discusses the outlets that cover crime, the incentives that drive them, the flawed sources they rely upon, and an alternative name for Miss Piggy."
