Local mainstream media is doing their very best to generate excitement for a soccer franchise that hasn't garnered much interest from a metro jam packed with sport fans. 

To be fair it's kind of fun to watch newsies feign interest in a topic that has such little mainstream appeal.

Sure . . . Attentive fathers might watch a couple of games and we hear that there's even some curiosity on college campuses wherein young women are known to engage in a great deal of experimentation. 

However . . . 

Most of us have never met an adult women's soccer enthusiast.

To be fair, lady's soccer has taught me that faking it is okay and oftentimes can work to benefit the community.

That might change in the future  . . . Especially with tax credits at stake. 

What's clear is that expressing any criticism of lady soccer is a sure way to lose friends and endure online rebuke for those rare TKC readers who haven't already been cancelled and sit around all day hoping that Elon Musk will rescue their Twitter trolling rights — A call of duty to p0wnz the libs as a substitute for any meaningful public service.

In the meantime, celebrities, sportscasters and even politicos are doing Oscar-caliber work in pretending that they watch women's professional soccer . . . Take a peek:
