The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department says a baby girl has died nearly a week after she was critically injured in a triple shooting.

Police were called to the area near East 26th Street and Hardesty Avenue at about 1:45 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 27 to investigate a report of gunshots in the area, and while officers were on the way, the call was updated to a shooting.

Police found three victims inside a home. Authorities said one adult died at the scene. A second adult was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police said a child under the age of 5 was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Police said Monday that the young child who was shot succumbed to her injuries at the hospital on Sunday. She has been identified as 2-month-old Desiree Bowden.

Kansas City baby dies from injuries in triple shooting

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A two-month-old baby has died from her injuries following a shooting last week. Kansas City Police said Desiree Bowden died following a shooting at 25th and Hardesty Monday afternoon. Davon Bowden, 27, also died in the shooting. A third victim was injured in the shooting, but is expected to survive.
