ADIÓS KANSAS CITY PARKS BOARD!?!

A local institution will soon be kaput if insiders have their way. 

But first this . . .

Just moments ago TKC was lucky enough to talk with somebody who might be one of the most impressive people we've met in a long time.

And you're talking to a d-bag who has "interned" with Alex Jones before he owed one BILLION bucks. Also, true story, Victor Borge once stopped his concert in order to get TKC to shut up. I was three-years-old at the time . . . But I digress . . .  

It's amazing who reads this blog on the toilet or under the covers with a flashlight. 

The future master of the universe took pity and was kind enough to look past TKC's bad teeth and constant digressions about Internets cat videos and boring community news war stories . . . And was thereby imparted with a bit of knowledge about the end of an era in Kansas City politics.

The main takeaway . . .

SAY GOODBYE TO THE KANSAS CITY PARKS BOARD, SUCKERS!!!

We don't know much about the plan but it kinda makes sense . . .

The word . . .

"This is a major part of Kansas City's budget and we're having it run by political appointees rather than inside City Hall were voters can hold KC directly accountable . . . You know, like every other city in the nation???"

That's probably correct . . .

The only problem . . .

The move is a departure from Kansas City history . . .

Parks Board appointments were once a sign of prestige and accomplishment bestowed upon civic leaders and rich old codgers. 

But . . .

Regarding politics and all manner of entanglements . . .

Sometimes it's better to let the past be the past.
