Youngster Hurt Amid KC Triple Injury Crash

"AIS responded to meet NPD officers on a reported Injury accident with critical injuries. Investigation revealed that a silver Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling northbound on 169 Highway, just south of 9 Highway, at a high rate of speed. The Chevrolet was traveling in the #1 lane of traffic when it went off the west side of the highway and struck the steel guardrail. The Chevrolet then overturned and rolled northbound down 169 Highway before coming to rest on its side blocking the #2 lane of travel. The Chevrolet was then struck by a gray Honda Accord that was traveling northbound on 169 Highway. The unrestrained driver and sole occupant of the Chevrolet was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The driver of the Honda refused medical treatment at the scene. All lanes of northbound 169 Highway were closed for approximately two and a half hours and the investigation is ongoing."

Three injured, including 7-year-old injured in crash

SMITHVILLE, Mo. - Three people were seriously injured and three others were minorly injured in a multi-vehicle crash Friday evening. According to Missouri Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 8:40 p.m. when the driver of a 2016 Toyota Camry failed to yield for a 2019 Jeep Compass and entered the pathway of the jeep at US 169 North and Amory Road.
