Survey Seyz Kansas City Police Funding Amendment 4 Stays Winning Missouri

We'll start Sunday by reminding loyal readers that they are appreciated.

Year after year the only reason this blog remains relevant is because of our reader community and the news tips, suggestions, political insight and nice notes that come our way.

Accordingly . . .

RIGHT NOW WE SHARE AN EPIC INSIDER QUOTE THAT PUTS MISSOURI MIDTERM ELECTIONS IN PERSPECTIVE!!!!

This website snip comes from an insider blog that mainly serves readers who pay a princely sum. It's one of those consultant blogs that charge a premium for their top notch content which shapes the discourse for the whole state . . . The prog blogs & conservative scribes WISH their news outlets worked this way but this outlet managed to convince a great many state house politicos to "expense" subscriptions.

Thankfully . . .

KICK-ASS TKC READERS thought that our blog community should know the score.

Here it is . . .

That's the setup . . . Here's the money shot . . .

Translation . . .

POLLING SEYZ MISSOURI AMENDMENT 4 STAYS WINNING BY WAY OF LANDSLIDE VOTER SUPPORT FOR POLICE!!!

As we often note .  . .

This data provides "a sense of place" and shows us that Missouri voters have overwhelming love for KCPD and don't want politicos tinkering with their budget.

Now . . .

The crux of the debate and our best explanation . . .

Critics might claim this is "taxation without representation" and unconstitutional.

Fact is . . . State control of police has been tested by the courts for generations and has withstood scrutiny.

Moreover . . .

Kansas City taxpayers are Missouri taxpayers and the state does, in fact, provide a portion of funding for KCPD . . . So voters across Missouri are stakeholders in much the same way that many local denizens on the outskirts of town might not get to cast a ballot on the KCMO E-tax but "opt in" to the controversial levy when they (or their employer) choose to do business in our town.

To be fair . . .

Mayor Q promises another lawsuit against this police funding ballot initiative and strange things can always happen in court.

But for now . . . We focus on reality . . .

KCPD funding by way of Amendment 4 has OVERWHELMING SUPPORT and should serve as one of the greatest embarrassments and SMACK-DOWNS TO KCMO CITY HALL given that the electorate across the state was forced to step-in and mandate public safety support against Mayor Q and his allies on council who sought to defund law enforcement.
