Streetcar Extension Threatens To Destroy Downtown Kansas City Traffic Again

A tacit admission in this warning . . . Even streetcar advocates seem to admit that so much cash spent on the "renaissance" inside the loop hasn't created consistently vibrant nightlife.

Meanwhile, here's the warning . . .

"Work is anticipated to start September 11 and last approximately five weeks, weather depending. Most of the work will take place Sunday through Thursday and during overnight hours. Work is being performed during weekday overnight hours to limit the disruption to streetcar operations. Additional signage will be posted at all streetcar stops to inform riders of this temporary schedule change. Throughout this duration, on-street parking on the streetcar route will be restricted."

KCMO Street Resurfacing to Impact Downtown Traffic - Downtown Council of Kansas City

Starting on September 11, 2022, the KC Streetcar will adjust hours of operation to support the City of Kansas City, Missouri's street resurfacing project that will affect the KC Streetcar corridor including the City Market area and Main Street between 7th Street and Pershing Road.
