KCPD Suspicious Death Ruled Homicide

Right now the KCMO homicide count stands at 116 . . . Nearly 10% higher than last year's record pace.

We had hoped the weekend would prove peaceful but this Sunday night investigation might determine otherwise.

Suspicious Death 2900 Block of Wabash

(Last Night) at about 9:30 pm officers were called to an apartment in the 2900 block of Wabash on an EMS call regarding an unresponsive person.

On arrival officers were directed by the caller into an apartment building there where they located the deceased victim , an adult male, unresponsive with unknown injuries inside the building. EMS declared the victim deceased here at the scene.

Detectives will be canvassing for any witnesses and the crime scene investigators will be processing for evidence to help detectives determine what lead up to the death. Detectives will also be working with the medical examiner to determine the cause of death.

KCPD investigating suspicious death in 2900 block of Wabash Avenue

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - UPDATE, 12:30 a.m.: Around 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 18, officers were called to an apartment regarding an unresponsive person. Kansas City Police says the person was an adult male. EMS declared him dead at the scene. Detectives are canvassing for any witnesses and are working with the medical examiner to determine the cause of death.

The Kansas City, Missouri Police Department said a call that started as a suspicious death investigation Sunday night has now been ruled a homicide. Police said officers were called to an apartment in the 2900 block of Wabash Avenue around 9:30 p.m. to investigate an ambulance call regarding a man who was found unresponsive.
