Kansas City Star Demands More Bike Lanes

An observation . . .

The so-called paper of record is just trolling their last remaining readers at this point. 

NOBODY WANTS MORE BIKE LANES BECAUSE THEY DON'T WORK TO KEEP CYCLISTS SAFE!!!

It's a kickback scheme hatched by one sketchy organization and even some of the most diehard local cyclists are moving away from this ineffective strategy.

With another pedestrian killed last night . . .

It would better serve the public if we stopped debating bike supremacy and started to get serious about reducing traffic facilitates. 

Meanwhile, The Star is recycling the worst ideas from 2015 . . .

"The City Council must act with urgency and consider using any available funds to immediately start building additional infrastructure that separates drivers from cyclists and pedestrians."

OPINION AND COMMENTARY Kansas City has a multi-year plan, Vision Zero, to reduce traffic fatalities, and in a perfect world that would mean fewer pedestrians and cyclists being killed on city streets and sidewalks. That perfect world has not yet arrived.
