Kansas City Gen Z Backs Prez Biden Despite Polling Evidence

This morning local public radio shares an interesting premise about the future of democracy.

Despite horrible polling numbers, hilarious memes and a worsening economy the local youth vote is ready to back Prez Biden's agenda . . . Because aviator glasses are cool and, by contrast, listening to Joe Rogan and his idiot friends just makes lonely people feel even more alienated . . .  Here's the word . . .

"Polls show millennial and Gen Z voters will continue the trend of the last two elections and turn out in high numbers, even though they are disillusioned with divisive political rhetoric and inauthenticity among politicians."

Better turnout is encouraging . . . It's a good thing but it still might not measure up to expectations if American history over the past 50 years is any indication.

Here's a few more things to consider about the NextGen showing up to save the Prez for the midterms:

Only 28% of the youngest Democrats strongly approve of Biden’s job performance, down 31 points since he took office

Biden’s decline among Democratic voters ages 18-34 has been driven largely by women: 61% approve of his job performance, compared with 78% of men.

Only 43% of young Democrats say Biden has been keeping the promises he made during 2020, compared with 60% of the average Democratic voter who said the same.

By double digits, young Democrats are less likely than others in the party to say Biden is prioritizing inflation and voting rights.

"Inflation, school, coronavirus." That's what 18-year-old Sye Chatam said when he was asked to describe the country today in three words. "All of it worries us young people." Chatman, in track shorts and a clean white hoodie, was about to get on an escalator at Ward Parkway Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

Young Voters, Who Helped Biden to Victory, Are a Big Weak Spot in the Democratic Coalition
