Kansas City Fights 'Traffic Violence' With Driver Crackdown Legislation

Kansas City is home to a new spin on the continued war against 'freedom of movement' and transportation for workers.

Words matter and we can't help but notice an important turn of a phrase now employed by Bike/Walk activists . . .

CAR CRASHES NOW QUALIFY AS "TRAFFIC VIOLENCE" IN THE CRUSADE AGAINST PERSONAL AUTOMOBILE OWNERSHIP!!!

It's a not so clever twist that assumes guilt and castigates motorists regardless of context.

Accordingly . . .

We notice that this morning a great many local activists were denouncing the design of downtown streets in the aftermath of a pedestrian death following a crash with vehicle near the loop

Now . . . Here's the rub . . .

Mistakenly categorizing car crashes as "violence" diminishes real community efforts to address historic rate of killing currently impacting Kansas City. It's a disservice to a far more important crisis than street design and bike lanes. Sadly, the recent past has taught us, Bike/Walk activists don't have any problem ruthlessly robbing from urban neighborhoods in order to secure their sketchy jobs.

And so we take a look at the questionable jargon that continues to take hold in Kansas City:

"The city aims to make its streets more walkable and reduce traffic violence by investing in sidewalks and other safety improvements."

Kansas City Adopts Vision Zero

Last month, Kansas City adopted a Vision Zero plan that pedestrian advocates hope will be a step toward making the city safer and more walkable. According to an article by Mili Mansaray for KCUR, " Residents complain about missing and poorly marked crosswalks and crumbling sidewalks."
