Kansas City Expired Temp Tag Angst Worsens

Check local news latching onto a longstanding local complaint that's gaining momentum as more drivers feel like suckers whilst others don't have to obey the rules of the road.

In Missouri, drivers have 30 days to exchange their temp tag for the more permanent metal version. In Kansas, it's 60 days.

Today in both states it's easy to spot tags on vehicles that have been expired for months, even years. By not registering or renewing a tag you hurt local government programs that rely on the fees collected.

Driving while expired is happening daily in Kansas and Missouri.In the early days of the pandemic with many state offices closed, police officers gave drivers a break on having current registrations. State offices have long ago reopened but expired tags are still a huge problem.In Missouri, drivers have 30 days to exchange their temp tag for the more permanent metal version.
