Kansas City 2022 Homicide #112: Police Capture Suspect After Shooting Death

This roundup of a deadly local scene offers a hint that our KCMO homicide problem isn't going to get better any time soon AND we're likely going to surpass last year's historic killing total given that there hasn't been a great deal of political will in addressing the crisis.

Homicide 3000 block of Harrison

Just before 8am, officers were called to the 3000 block of Harrison Street in regard to a reported shooting.  Upon arrival, officers located the victim, an adult male, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.  EMS responded to the scene and declared the victim deceased.

A subject of interest was detained by officers at the scene.

Detectives and Crime Scene Personnel have responded to the scene.  They will be processing the scene for evidence and canvassing the area for witnesses.  Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at 816-234-5043.  Or you can remain anonymous by calling the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.

Man shot, killed near Kansas City apartment complex

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Kansas City Police Department is investigating a homicide after finding a victim outside an apartment complex Thursday morning. Officers were called to the 3000 block of Harrison Street at about 8 a.m. and found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.


KCPD investigating fatal shooting in 3000 block of Harrison

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Police are investigating a fatal shooting in the 3000 block of Harrison in Kansas City, Missouri. Just before 8 a.m. Thursday, KCMO police arrived at the scene and located a man with gunshot wounds. Emergency medical services pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
